How long does a free Subdomain take to be fully set up and working on my wedding website?

It'll be ready for you in seconds! When you choose a free Subdomain that is available and not registered to another couple, it will be yours to use and will connect to your personal wedding website immediately after you submit your request.

Where and when do I choose a free Subdomain?

After you either purchase or take a free wedding website trial with us, you can select a free Subdomain of your choice from within your WedQuarters Hub.

Am I guaranteed to receive the free Subdomain of my preference?

Unfortunately, we cannot promise that you'll receive your first choice of a free Subdomain. There is a chance it has already been chosen by another WedQuarters couple and will therefore be unavailable for use by anyone else.

Don't worry though...in your WedQuarters Hub, we've created a short list of suggestions to give you ideas for other Subdomains you might like. You might even see one that you like better!

What will happen if a wedding guest accidentally mis-types my free Subdomain?

We've taken care of that! If a guest mis-types your Subdomain, they will automatically arrive at a page on the WedQuarters website that contains a friendly "Oops" message. This page will prompt them to enter one of your names in an easy search form so our system can correctly direct them to your wedding website. Problem solved!

Why do you not include a Custom www.***.com Domain with a wedding website?

To maintain the lowest possible costs for our valued customers, we have made this an OPTIONAL add-on! We're flexible and are pleased to offer you a choice in this matter so you can decide what you would like to do.

As many of our customers see it, since they receive a FREE Subdomain included with their account (ex: StephLovesMatt.WedQuarters.com), they are not interested in paying $15.95 to remove the ".WedQuarters" from their free web address. As well, a large number of our couples already own a domain name and would rightfully feel slighted that they were paying an extra built-in cost for something they already own. Not fair, right?

It really depends what your personal preference is. And if a Custom www.***.com Domain is something you would like for your wedding website, then we would be happy to register one for you at a very low cost.

What Custom www.***.com Domain extension options do I have?

Available extensions through WedQuarters are: ".com", ".net", ".org" and ".info".

What characters are allowed in a Custom www.***.com Domain?

Only a few characters are permitted in any Custom www.***.com Domain. These include: Letters, Numbers and Hyphens.

Can I register a ".ca" extension web address through WedQuarters?

No, we do not offer this as an option as ".ca" extensions are only available from domain name registrars for a much higher price.

If you really have your heart set on a ".ca", please register it yourself. You will then be responsible to set it up on the account you hold with your domain registrar to forward on to your personal wedding website.

Am I guaranteed to receive the Custom www.***.com Domain of my preference?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the availability of any domain. If this is a concern for you, please feel free to contact us with a list of your top 3 domain preferences. Our support team will run a quick check to see what's available and let you know prior to making a purchase.

Why would a Custom www.***.com Domain not be available for me to acquire?

If another individual or company has already registered a specific domain, it will be unavailable for use by anyone else, even if you are interested in it. However, since we offer ".com", ".net", ".org" and ".info" domain extensions, there may be an alternate extension available.

Do I own my Custom www.***.com Domain if I order it through WedQuarters?

No, WedQuarters will own it. When you order a Custom www.***.com Domain through the WedQuarters website, our company will register your indicated preference for use on your behalf, however, it will then be purchased through an account we hold with a third party domain registrar.

This means it will be registered under our company's name and therefore, belongs to us. We retain all rights to the domain until expiry. At this time we may choose to either release or renew it. We are not obligated to release or renew it and we reserve the right to retain it for our own purposes or for future use, possibly for another customer.

Can a Custom www.***.com Domain be transferred over to me?

If you would like to own the domain you ordered through us, please contact us for details on our domain owner transfer process. The process involves a transfer away fee of $25 to WedQuarters plus any fees assessed by the domain name registrar and can take a few days for the domain registrar to update their records. However, once the process is complete, the domain will be registered under your name and you will have full control over it.

Please be Advised: If you do not wish to pay the transfer away fee, the domain will not be available for some time. If WedQuarters allows the name to expire, it will undergo a waiting period before it becomes available. This waiting period has been noted to last 75 days. Also note that it is fair game for another company or individual to register it at this point, as you will not have any prior claim or first rights to it. To avoid a long delay and possibly losing your domain to an open market, we recommend either renewing with us or paying the transfer-away fee.

Can I purchase a Custom www.***.com Domain for a 6 month term?

Even if you sign up for a 6 month account with WedQuarters, the shortest duration for a Custom www.***.com Domain is 12 months. Unfortunately domain name registrars only allow domains to be purchased in yearly increments.

Can I purchase a Custom www.***.com Domain for a 24 month term?

Yes, you can! You may order a Custom "www.***.com" Domain through WedQuarters for $29.90 for 24 months. If you wish to extend your domain beyond the 24 months, you may certainly do so as well.

What happens when I purchase a Custom www.***.com Domain through WedQuarters?

We have set up a very easy system so you can have your Custom www.***.com Domain up and running in no time! All you need to do:

After you have purchased your account and a Custom www.***.com Domain, just sign in to your WedQuarters Hub to begin.
Once in your WedQuarters Hub, you will first need to choose a free Subdomain (YourChoice.WedQuarters.com). This is necessary so we can have a web address working behind the scenes to tie your Custom www.***.com Domain of preference to, so your WedQuarters wedding website can be made available at your new web address.
Next, you fill in a simple form that asks you to enter your top 3 Custom www.***.com Domain preferences.
Now your part is done and it's up to us! Our team will attempt to register the first available domain on your list and then complete the necessary forwarding steps with the domain registrar. Once it has been secured, we will notify you of your new domain by placing a special message with details about it in your WedQuarters Hub.

Please Note: A Custom www.***.com Domain is unavailable for ordering with a free trial. It can only be ordered after your trial has been extended to a paid account.

How long will it take for a Custom www.***.com Domain to be set up and working?

Once you submit your top 3 preferences in your WedQuarters Hub (please see above FAQ for more details), your request will be entered into a secure domain queue for registration.

Once registration has been successfully completed, it is now out of our hands and your wedding website will not yet be visible at your new web address. We now must now wait up to 24-48 hours (though often as little as 12 hours!) while the domain registrar updates their system with the information we submitted at the time of registration. Until then, you may continue to visit your wedding website at your free Subdomain.

When are Custom Domains processed?

Custom Domains are usually processed by our staff at the closing of each business day.

Note: If you submit your top three Custom Domain preferences after the registration time has been completed for that day, your preferences will remain in our domain queue until the end of the next business day, at which point registrations will be completed.

If I already own a domain name can I use it for my WedQuarters wedding website?

Yes, you definitely can! You will most likely want to use a "forwarding" or "mask forwarding" feature offered by the domain registrar with whom you registered your domain. Have them set your domain to forward to your chosen WedQuarters Subdomain address. If you require assistance setting this up, please contact your domain registrar for details.

Important Note: Some domain registrars charge a fee ($10-$20+) for forwarding. If this is the case with your domain registrar, you will be responsible to pay your registrar this fee.

If I already own a domain can you do all the necessary set up with my domain registrar for me?

To maintain the privacy of the account you hold with your domain name registrar of choice, we will not do this. However, we can often provide the details you'll need for you to do this yourself, or you can request the help of your domain name registrar.
